Marine Applications can provide you with help to achieve Responsibly Sourced Seafood (RSS) Standard product certification for wild capture fisheries.
Responsibly Sourced Seafood (RSS) Standard
This is an internationally accredited product certification for wild capture fisheries that can give you greater access to domestic and export markets.
Raw Material Certification under BIM’s RSS
BIM’s Responsibly Sourced Seafood (RSS) Standard is a product certification system assuring that catches have been fished responsibly, are of the highest quality and are traceable. Qualifying vessels and onshore operators can provide a copy of their certificate to indicate the product’s compliance with the Standard.
The standard also addresses target requirements of Certified Raw Material Sourcing and Sustainability Initiatives as required by Bord Bia’s Origin Green, the national food and drink Sustainability Charter.
BIM’s Responsibly Sourced Seafood Standard comprises two integrated elements:
- Fishing Vessel Standard
- Onshore Handling & Quality Standard (For intermediaries such as co-operatives and processors, etc… through the supply chain)
